If you're looking for something a bit different to enjoy at the cinema next month, may we suggest popping out to see 'LA Phil LIVE'.
Over 1,000 musicians and singers converge in this once in a lifetime event - a performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 8, 'Symphony of a Thousand'.
As part of the 'LA Phil LIVE' series, conductor Gustavo Dudamel leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela in a dramatic performance recorded live in February this year.
The event featured more than 1,000 musicians and singers on stage in Venezuela and was captured by multiple high definition cameras in 5.1 surround sound.
Hosted by actor John Lithgow, the performance is now available in cinemas to international audiences, including New Zealand music lovers in May. It opens with exclusive interviews between Lithgow and Dudamel, the LA Phil musicians and world-renowned guest soloists to give a unique insight into the colossal forces participating in this unusual performance.Cinema screenings:
