A Promise (2007)

Reed goes to Qiandeng City in China, following through on a pact he made with his girlfriend Rebecca ten years ago. The decade-old promise led him all the way to the birthplace of traditional Chinese folk opera, or Kunqu Opera, where he became acquainted with a granddaughter and her strange grandmother.The granddaughter, Lily, showed him around the river town, and its numerous stories detailing the 600-year-old Kunqu Opera. Time passed until one day a mysterious parcel with an ancient flute inside reached Reed. Was it sent by Lily? Would Lily finally show up to fulfill the promise?
