Opinions on movies are a lot like big-screen cinema itself. Some people have the Reservoir Dogs-style, tough, unflinching viewpoint. Some can initially point one way but surprise you in the end, like The Crying Game (you all know that lady was really a man, right?). Some are undeniably, unequivocally awesome, like The Godfather. And some are just lame, like Glitter or Gigli.
And movie tickets aren't cheap, so what's an unsuspecting cinemagoer to do when it comes to manoeuvring the minefield that is modern cinema? Luckily, the Yahoo!Xtra Insider is on the case. Between the bunch of us reviewing the latest movies you'll get honest, unflinching opinion about what's out on the big screen, and whether it's worth spending your hard earned bucks to put your bum on the seat.
We'll give you the heads up on whether a new flick is more Battlefield Earth than Back To The Future.
Anna: Loves gangster movies, South American cinema, and stuff that doesn't star Vin Diesel.
Amy: Tends towards musicals, formulaic rom-coms or bizarre foreign offerings with subtitles. Refuses to watch horror films.
Armelle: Loves animation in all its forms. Foreign film fiend as well as action movie lover provided they have a decent plot (rare).
Mike: Loves Jay & Silent Bob, but will watch anything in the cinema as long as it wasn't directed by Anthony Minghella.
