Hank Deerfield, a retired Army veteran (Jones), receives a call from the army telling him that his son has gone AWOL a few days after returning from a tour of duty in Iraq.
Deerfield travels to his son's base to try to find out the truth about what happened, both during his tour in Iraq and on the days since his return. What follows is a passionate personal and mystery drama during which Deerfield, with help from Detective Emily Sanders (Theron), uncovers a deeply disturbing story about his son's outcome and overall the mental state of a number of returning Iraq veterans. |
